At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry one of the many ways we establish trusting partnerships with our patients is to provide a wealth of information on maintaining optimal dental health and beautiful smiles. Whatever your age may be, there’s no secret formula for maintaining a healthy smile. It’s simply a matter of establishing an effective oral hygiene routine, getting routine checkups and care, eating a nutritious diet and avoiding harmful oral habits. Of course, the most important thing to remember is that to successfully keep your smile healthy, a consistent regimen of oral care is essential.

Enjoying the benefits of a vibrant smile in tip-top condition is not something to be taken for granted. To maintain optimal oral health requires a bit of effort.

Here are a few simple recommendations that can go a long way in protecting the health of your smile:

It’s Important to Brush & Floss!

Maintaining a healthy smile depends upon keeping your teeth and gums clean with a daily routine of brushing and flossing. According to the recommendations of the American Dental Association, it is important to brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Brushing your teeth with a fluoride containing toothpaste that has been awarded the ADA seal of acceptance helps to keep your smile healthy and vibrant. Moreover, to help prevent tooth decay and gum disease, it is also essential to remove plaque and food particles from between the teeth and under the gumline on a daily basis. Simply by taking a few minutes to gently floss the teeth once a day, you can reduce your risk of dental disease.

What You Eat Matters!

At your routine checkup visit, a member of our team will demonstrate the proper technique for brushing and flossing your teeth as well as provide helpful dietary guidance. While sugary foods, as well as sweet and carbonated beverages, can be harmful to your oral health, other foods that are rich in nutrients help to keep your teeth and gums strong, and boost your resistance to dental disease.

Emergency dental care is a service we hope you’ll never need- but if you do, the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry is here for you! As providers of experienced, and compassionate care we’re well equipped to get you back on the road to oral health.

Dental emergencies can come about in any number of ways. Your discomfort may be due to an injury to the oral facial area, the acute flare-up of a longstanding problem, or the result of the sudden onset of seemingly inexplicable pain. While there are many reasons for seeking urgent dental care, some of the most common ones include severe toothaches, chipped or fractured teeth, problematic wisdom teeth, a dental abscess, a broken filling, a loosened crown, or a broken denture. Whatever the case may be, it’s essential to contact our office promptly for care. If left untreated many dental emergencies can quickly worsen, resulting in more severe consequences to your oral health and overall well-being.

Although many dental emergencies are associated with pain, there are those that are uncomfortable in other ways, also requiring timely care to help you return to your daily routine. For instance, a lost crown or broken denture can leave embarrassing gaps in one’s smile and make it more difficult to speak clearly and chew. Not to worry, if faced with one of these types of dental problems, rest assured that you’ll receive the swift service you’re hoping for at our office. With patient care and comfort as our top priorities, we’ll carefully explain your treatment options and provide the precise and gentle care required to get your smile back on track. We offer a comprehensive range of advanced services to address a broad spectrum of urgent dental needs, including the prompt repair or replacement of dental prostheses such as crowns and dentures.

It happens to most of us at one time or another: a tooth cavity. These days, cavities are more prevalent than ever, affecting 82 percent of U.S. adults by the time they’re 34. In fact, tooth decay — the condition that causes cavities — is the single most chronic childhood disease in the nation. Realities like these underscore the importance of patient education and regular checkups for preventing tooth decay. At Crowns Now Family Dentistry, we are experienced and trained in all aspects of oral health, providing treatment as well as information on the best ways for you to maintain healthy teeth and gums at any age.

For best results, the American Dental Association encourages patients to visit their dentist at least twice a year for routine checkups and professional teeth cleanings. Monitoring the teeth, gums, and jaws enables your dentist to not only prevent, but to spot dental conditions in their earliest stages when they are most treatable. The accumulation of plaque is responsible for dental decay that can lead to extensive damage if left untreated. That’s why regular visits to our office are needed over and above your at-home oral care routine. We’ll provide you with professional cleanings to remove any hardened plaque you may have missed and give you the tools you need to brush and floss correctly. For children visiting us for preventive care, we provide fluoride treatments as well as dental sealants, each safe and effective measures for shielding and strengthening teeth against acid erosion.

Committed to your oral health

Oral health is the number one goal at the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry.  Whether you’re in need of routine preventive care, or require restorations, dental implants, or cosmetic treatments, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of skilled and compassionate care. For more information in our office and the many services that we provide, give us a call today.

At Crowns Now Family Dentistry we pride ourselves on offering the most precise and gentle care, keeping you relaxed throughout every visit. We utilize advanced technology and methods to provide stress-free solutions for all your dental needs, including root canal, a procedure used to strengthen and preserve the teeth.

Underneath the outermost biting surface of each tooth is a layer of core tissues, blood vessels and nerves, which comprise the dental pulp. When a tooth has been compromised by decay or injury, bacteria can enter and infect the dental pulp, leading to the uncomfortable symptoms of a toothache. If you experience sensitivity to hot and cold, pain when biting down, or any type of oral discomfort, it is important to contact our office immediately. We will promptly and accurately examine your teeth, gums and their supporting bone structure to determine an effective course of action, if root canal procedure or some other type of dental care is needed.

With a root canal procedure, a dental infection can be treated, the discomfort of a toothache alleviated and subsequent damage to your oral health prevented. Throughout the course of your root canal procedure our dentist and staff will keep you informed and at ease, addressing any anxiety or concerns that may arise during treatment. Following the procedure, we may recommend placing a dental crown over your treated tooth, to help strengthen and protect it, and to restore its function and appearance. A tooth that has been treated with a root canal can remain healthy and functional throughout your life.

Whether you need a root canal or any kind of dental service, it’s important to find a dentist who prioritizes your comfort and tailors treatment to meet your particular needs. At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry, we provide the highest quality care, making it easier to maintain a lifetime of excellent oral health. To learn more about root canal therapy and the other services we provide, give us a call today.

With today’s advances in cosmetic dentistry, it’s possible to turn even badly stained or yellowing teeth into dazzling white smiles. At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry, our teeth whitening procedure offers a fast and effective way to erase stains and tooth discoloration, brightening your smile by up to several shades.

Teeth can become stained due to persistent exposure to highly pigmented foods and beverages, as well as tobacco use. Not surprisingly, dark-colored foods and beverages, including red wine, soda, dark sauces, and various fruits — such as grapes, blueberries and pomegranates — also have the potential to stain teeth. These items are high pigment-producing substances that stick to tooth enamel, making them appear discolored as a result. Aging can also cause your smile to lose its sparkle as enamel begins to thin, exposing more of the yellowish, underlying dentin.

With a reputation for providing the highest quality of care and offering a comprehensive range of the most advanced cosmetic dental procedures, we can improve the appearance of your teeth to give you the radiant set of pearly whites you’ve always wanted. Teeth whitening is a popular approach to cosmetically enhancing less-than-perfect smile; in fact, studies show that 90 percent of dental patients have talked to their dentists about professional teeth whitening treatment.

When it comes to smile care, our team of professionals is well equipped to help you and every member of your family enjoy optimal oral health.

Here are three great reasons why regular checkups to our office are essential for a healthy smile:

  1. With routine checkups, we can help prevent dental disease or treat it early in its onset. While a mirror allows you to look at the surface of your smile, underneath the outer layer of your teeth and beneath the gums, there may be a lot more going on. By performing a comprehensive exam, we’re able to detect and treat emerging dental problems such as the onset of gum disease or dental decay.  We can also take measures to help prevent these issues from happening at all.
  2. We’ll check signs of medical conditions, suspicious lesions, ulcerations, or oral cancer. We’re always on the lookout for any unusual signs or symptoms affecting your oral health and overall well-being. As part of a comprehensive exam (and if indicated at other visits), we perform an oral cancer screening to look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth. We also check for any oral manifestations of other medical conditions or problematic lesions.
  3. Dedicated to helping patients maintain optimal oral health, we emphasize the importance of preventive care. With a professional dental cleaning, we can remove the plaque and tartar between the teeth and gums that your toothbrush or floss may have missed. Not only will your smile feel better after a thorough cleaning, but by removing any accumulated plaque, tartar, and debris, your risk of cavities and gum disease is reduced. Also, as part of our comprehensive program of preventive care, we’ll show you what you can do at home to help keep your teeth and gums healthy.

Ask yourself: Is your smile the very best it can be? If you’re suffering from discolored, chipped, misshapen or slightly misaligned teeth, dental veneers may be the answer for you.

One of the most esthetic and conservative means of creating a more pleasing and beautiful smile is the placement of dental veneers. At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry, our highly-skilled staff will determine if you are candidate for veneers and will work with you to create a great looking smile.

Dental veneers offer a relatively quick way to transform the look of less-than-perfect teeth to create a stunning smile. With dental veneers, our office can improve the size, shape and color of the front teeth to perfect the overall appearance of your smile. Fabricated from the highest grade of dental porcelain, veneers are thin facings that are individually custom designed and bonded to the visible surfaces of the front teeth. Beyond taking just a few visits, dental veneers are appealing because they require the removal of very little tooth structure.

If you are interested in improving the look of your smile with dental veneers you’ll first meet with our dentist for a smile makeover consultation. At this visit we’ll assess the overall health of your teeth, the surrounding tissues and jawbones, as well as analyze both your smile and facial aesthetics. As skilled and experienced providers of care, we value patient input and will design your dental veneers to give you a beautiful smile that meets your cosmetic expectations.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 69 percent of adults have lost at least one permanent tooth due to decay, gum disease or injury. Lost teeth affect your ability to smile with confidence or speak and chew properly, impacting your quality of life. Fortunately, the skilled professionals at the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry can help reestablish the look, feel and function of a naturally beautiful and complete smile.

Missing teeth not only affects your appearance, it can also alter your bite, impair oral function and reduce support for natural contours of your face to produce a more haggard look. Implants differ from traditional dental prostheses, such as conventional fixed bridges or dentures, because the lowermost portion of an implant functions in much the same way as the root of a natural tooth. Once placed and integrated with the surrounding bone, dental implants can be used to secure custom crowns, fixed bridges or implant-retained dentures, and can even be placed strategically to support an entire set of upper or lower teeth. In addition, dental implants can be placed to restore missing teeth, without requiring the involvement the adjacent teeth.

From designing your implants with the latest technology and techniques, to the complete restoration of your smile, our team will provide the individualized attention you deserve in addition to useful tips on how to take care of your new dental implants.

Your trusted partner in dental care

At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry, we believe that everyone deserves to smile with confidence. Dental pain, injuries to your mouth or jaws, a broken tooth…these are all conditions that signal something’s wrong and requires immediate attention. That’s why having the name of a reliable and skilled dentist on hand is important.

At Crowns Now Family Dentistry, we offer a wide range of services for all types of dental emergencies and are well equipped to address your needs. Providing skilled and compassionate care, we’ll alleviate the pain, stress, and general confusion of your dental emergency, and put you back on the road to oral health.

Perhaps the most common reason patients seek emergency treatment is because of a toothache, which can either arise from an irritation of the nervous tissue within the tooth itself, or from the face, jaw, or head. When you schedule an emergency appointment with us for a toothache, you can rest assured that we will precisely determine the underlying source of your discomfort and develop the most appropriate course of action to restore your oral health and function. Left untreated, a toothache can get worse and lead to further damage to the tooth, as well as possibly even compromise the long-term prognosis for the tooth and the surrounding tissues. It can even affect your overall well-being!

Your trusted partner in care…whenever you need it!

If a dental emergency should arise, do not hesitate to call us at Crowns Now Family Dentistry for an urgent appointment. We will prioritize your condition and give you the timely treatment you deserve. Your care and comfort are top priorities with us. In addition to following all official guidelines to protect ourselves and others from the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), it’s also essential to take steps to prevent the emergence of other healthcare problems.

During these stressful and challenging times, we need to do our best to eat a nutritious diet, get sufficient exercise, and maintain our overall well-being. This advice includes protecting the health of your smile.  By practicing good oral hygiene, following a diet low in sugary sweets, and avoiding harmful oral habits, you can significantly reduce your risk of dental problems or emergencies that would require leaving your home for in-office care.

Maintaining a healthy smile depends upon keeping your teeth and gums clean with a daily routine of brushing and flossing. However, because the mouth and nose areas are vulnerable entry points for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and other infections, it’s essential to take extra precautions when performing your oral hygiene and personal care routines.

We offer the following helpful suggestions for maintaining your smile while protecting your overall health:

Bad breath is quite unpleasant. People don’t want it coming from their own mouths or the mouths of others. The definition of bad breath, or halitosis, is an unpleasant smell coming from the mouth. Halitosis can occur on occasion, or it can be a chronic condition. It may be caused by foods a person eats, diseases or other issues. One of those other factors includes poor oral hygiene.

At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry, our experienced dentists are well equipped to provide you with the highest level of care to preserve and maintain your oral health. We utilize state-of-the-art knowledge and technology to plan and perform your care with the utmost precision.

When a person does not brush or floss his/her teeth regularly, food particles remaining in the mouth can rot and cause bad odors. Poor dental care can lead to a buildup of plaque in the mouth, which causes an odor of its own. Plaque buildup on the teeth can also lead to an unhealthy condition called periodontal (gum) disease. When plaque hardens, it is referred to as tartar (calculus). Tartar holds bacteria that can irritate the gums and lead to gum disease.

The mild form of gum disease is called gingivitis. Gingivitis starts when food debris mixes with saliva and bacteria which, in turn, forms dental plaque that sticks to the surfaces of teeth. If dental plaque isn’t removed by brushing with toothpaste and flossing, it can become mineralized and form tartar, or calculus.

Tartar is very hard, and only a professional dental cleaning can remove it. Plaque and tartar are filled with harmful bacteria, and if they aren’t removed from teeth, they will begin to irritate the gums and cause gingivitis. If left untreated, gingivitis will often extend from the gums to the bone and lead to periodontitis.

At the office of Crowns Now Family Dentistry, we offer a clear picture of all the options available to you and deliver the results you expect. For more information on all of our other services, please call today.
